This Cookie Policy describes how Lex Alert (the “Platform”) uses cookies and similar technologies to provide the service available at:
The Platform is an online system that automatically monitors publications in the State Gazette (Държавен вестник) and sends personalised notifications.
This policy is based on:
- Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR)
- Article 4a of the Bulgarian Electronic Commerce Act and Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy)
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored in the user’s browser when they visit a website.
They make it possible to:
- run the site;
- remember preferences;
- analyse how the site is used;
- improve the user experience.

4. Types of cookies
The public website (lexalert.bg) uses only two categories of cookies:
- Necessary - always active
- Analytics - optional
No advertising cookies are used. No behavioural targeting is used.
The app (app.lexalert.bg) does not use cookies. It stores in the browser (localStorage and sessionStorage) only data strictly necessary for it to work: the sign-in session, language, theme, completed onboarding and page filters.
5. Necessary cookies
This cookie is needed to remember your cookie choice and cannot be switched off.

Legal basis: The storage is strictly necessary for the service you requested and does not require consent (Art. 4a(3) of the Bulgarian Electronic Commerce Act; Art. 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC).
6. Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies are loaded only after explicit consent.
They are disabled by default.
They are used only on the public website, NOT in the app.
Legal basis: consent (Art. 4a of the Bulgarian Electronic Commerce Act; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Used for:
- traffic;
- clicks;
- scrolling;
- general visitor behaviour.

7. Managing consent
The Platform uses Google Consent Mode v2.
By default:
- all analytics cookies are refused;
- no tracking takes place.
The user can:
- give consent through the cookie banner;
- change their choice at any time through “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page;
- delete cookies in their browser.
8. International transfers
Google LLC and Microsoft Corporation may process data outside the European Economic Area.
Transfers are based on:
- the EU–US Data Privacy Framework
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
- additional safeguards.

You can:
- change your settings through the cookie banner;
- delete cookies from your browser;
- block future storage.
10. Changes to this Cookie Policy
The Platform may update this policy from time to time. New versions are published at lexalert.bg/en/cookies with a number and date; previous versions remain available (e.g. version 1).
